The Vulcans beat the Sharks 4-3 in Game 1, and lost 2-1 in Game 2.

UHH (8-33) and HPU (20-18) close the six-game series with a doubleheader starting at noon Sunday at Wong Stadium.

In Game 1, David Moody pitched five innings in the win. He allowed two runs on five hits and a walk, and struck out six. Jarin Kadooka recorded two outs, Cole Nakachi one out, and David Lee went 1 2/3 scoreless innings before Deric Valoroso pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings for the save.

Hilo graduate Keenan Nishioka and Sean Nearhoof each went 2 for 4 with two RBIs to lead the Vulcans.

Ryan Torres-Torioka, a 2013 Konawaena graduate, batted 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Sharks.

In Game 2, Steven Camberos hit an RBI single off losing pitcher Jeremy Dela Cruz with one out in the seventh.

No one paired hits for UHH.

Dela Cruz went 6 2/3 innings and allowed two runs (one unearned) on six hits and no walks.
